GPS For Perinatal Providers and Patients Curriculum

A 6-session curriculum guide creating distinct spaces of peer support for perinatal providers and pregnant and postpartum people.

Pregnancy, postpartum, and perinatal care can bring profound uncertainty, responsibility, fear, and emotional complexity. Holding Care Together: GPS For Perinatal Providers and Patients creates structured, trauma-informed spaces where both the people receiving care and the people providing it can speak honestly about experiences that are often difficult to name.

The curriculum includes two connected three-session pathways. The provider pathway explores professional scrutiny, fear of missing something, difficult clinical decisions, moral injury, cumulative stress, and the emotional weight of continuing to care for others within imperfect and under-resourced systems. The patient pathway creates space for pregnant and postpartum people to explore stigma, frightening or unwanted thoughts, fear of asking for help, experiences within the healthcare system, and what helps build trust and connection.
