GPS Supervisor Training – March 2026 – Live Virtual

Equip your supervisors. Strengthen your program. Build trauma-informed support groups.

The MASStrong Supervisor Training Program prepares supervisors to guide and support staff who are facilitating GPS Support Groups. Whether you are new to GPS or already familiar with the model, this training equips you with the tools to boost your team’s confidence and capacity in implementing MASStrong.

Participants will gain a clear understanding of GPS’s trauma-informed, evidence-based approach, how it differs from other group models, and how it can be integrated into the heart of recovery and support services. Supervisors will also explore how to use GPS principles in staff meetings and supervision to build stronger teams and more effective services.

This Supervisor Training is a non-clinical, educational program designed to help supervisors understand and support GPS Group Peer Support implementation. Completion of this training does not authorize supervisors to facilitate GPS groups, provide clinical or GPS supervision, or replace organizational supervision or management practices.

What Participants Are Saying

This gave me tools to guide my facilitators and keep groups consistent.
It’s a great introduction to GPS — not just for facilitators, but for those of us supervising them.
Finally, a resource for supervisors — structure and strategies we can actually use.

Who This Training Is For
Learning Objectives

Supervisors often wish they had more tools to support staff running groups — more structure, guidance, and confidence. This program answers that need by helping supervisors

  • Orient and guide new facilitators as groups begin.

  • Strengthen ongoing GPS groups and address challenges.

  • Integrate GPS into supervision, staff meetings, and program culture.

  • Build confidence and consistency across their team.

This training is designed for anyone in a supervisory role supporting GPS groups, including:

  • Program directors and administrators launching or expanding support groups
  • Clinical supervisors and managers in healthcare or behavioral health settings
  • Peer coordinators and lead facilitators guiding other GPS facilitators
  • Community health workers, social workers, and counselors in supervisory roles

By the end of this training, participants will be able to:
  • Explain the trauma-informed foundations and evidence-based group facilitation practices of the GPS Group Peer Support model.
  • Identify how GPS group skills support participant engagement and help address staff challenges.
  • Support staff in adapting GPS for unique populations and program needs.
  • Apply GPS principles in supervision and staff meetings to build resilient, collaborative teams.
  • Integrate GPS into organizational structures to enhance recovery-oriented and trauma-informed care.
